music: bad religion - the process of belief

the lack of entries is indicative of a boring life. there's not much to tell, but i'll try to say a few words about last weekend. predictably, there were nights of beer drinking and pool playing. i'm getting sick of both and was glad that i showed enough restraint to go home with only a slight buzz both nights. the getting hammered thing is getting old.

on saturday afternoon, francesca and i ventured out to see a free show by elbow at the virgin megawhore. from all i'd heard about them, i was expecting a bit more. they were alright, but i wasn't moved enough to shell out $9.99 for their cd. i realize that's the first band i've seen in quite awhile. all this noise pop stuff is going on, but i'm not seeing any of those shows. the few i'd consider seeing have been sold out for awhile. and it looks like i'm going to pass on michigan fest. it's too much $$ to get there from SF.

fuck, i really don't have anything to say. is it lunch time yet? oh...i'm listening to the new bad religion record and i just don't know. yeah, mr. brett's back in the band and you can tell by the pace: it's faster. but aside from a few excellent songs (like the opener, "supersonic"), you can't really say this is a return to the greatness of their holy trinity of suffer,no control and against the grain. i'll listen to it a few more times to make sure there's not something i'm missing.

He or she is a beer-drinking, pool playing maniac. he or she suffers from musicmegalomania and should seek more time in the sun. he or she writes with a soft, unenthusiatic tone generally reserved for first time poets who refer to themselves with a lower-case i. he or she needs to meet Kai out for drinks at the Eagle's Drift Inn immediately after work and solve all of your problems, both real and make-believe. this has been your dial-a-curse for today.
