mood: slightly buzzed
music: kristina's tape
today was the culmination of the gay pride festivities here in SF. i know the whole thing is a really postive, empowering experience for a lot of people...but it seems like it's become way too overblown. being a straight "breeder" type, maybe i'm not qualified to criticize. but when i left work on friday i saw something that seemed kinda wack. a huge miller beer poster with a lesbian couple on one side and two gay men on the other...advertising the weekend's events. when huge corporations get their dirty hands on things, how subversive can they really be?
my day started with a veggie omelette and some book-selling and browsing on 24th st. this afternoon, i finished a tape for soon-to-be texan kristina. i need to ship it out to her in dallas cos i'm sure she's going to need some relief from the scorching texas heat and humidity. in a tip of the cap to the lone star state, i snuck a toadies song on the tape.
