music: the boo radleys - wake up!
i'm getting a little punchy at work. there's this guy, he's not my boss but he's one rung above me on the office food chain. he's not a bad guy, i guess. but he has this habit of hanging on your shoulder like a fucking vulture and looking at what you're working on. i'm not the only one who gets annoyed when he does this and for the last few months, i've let it slide. but today, i kinda popped off to him. later, i felt bad cos i think i freaked him out. but shit...don't condescend to me and act like a doting mother. i know what i'm doing and i'm competent, even if i'm bored stiff half the time. ah...i guess i can be a jerk sometimes. what's worse is sometimes i actually like being a jerk.
now that i've vented my spleen on work stuff, i've gotta say how disappointed i was to find out that idlewild canceled their show at the fillmore this saturday. evidently, the guitarist is in the hospital and they've canceled the first 3 weeks of the US tour. no news on what's wrong with the guy or whether the show will be rescheduled. fucking bummer. i did already see the band at an acoustic in-store at mod lang, but i was looking forward to see them playing plugged in. someday...
props to kai for fighting his ticket. he got the judge to hear his side and he saved $40. seems like it was worth it. now i have to write him about REM. it's strange how he's been listening to "green" a lot lately, cos i just found a copy at amoeba for $2 and i've been listening to it at work a lot. it's cool to rediscover a record you haven't listened to in years.
