The Beer Retard - December 2nd, 2001

nothing much going on late on a sunday afternoon. it's been raining a lot here in the bay area. flooding and serious winds knocking out power...that kinda stuff. watched some movies yesterday and went to amoeba today. bought the new and you will know us by the trail of dead ep and the hey mercedes full-length. haven't listened to either yet. oh, i got the mogwai 1-song 20 minute ep as well. i was a little disappointed that i couldn't find much of the stuff i was looking for used. the things i mentioned were all used and reasonably priced, but i had a big list and virtually none of it was available used. i take that back. a few had used copies, but i'm sure as hell not paying $11.95 for a used cd. that's bullshit.

i found out the new radio 4 lp, entitled gotham, will be out in january. their first album was good in an early clash/gang of four sort of way. i'm hoping the new one will be even better. gern blandsten is coming out with a lot of good bands. in addition to radio 4, i've been hearing good things about the liars and pilot to gunner.

i always start to get a little depressed this time on sunday. just knowing that a monday at work is around the corner... ah fuck it. it's just a stupid job.
