I was pretty proud of myself for having made it through this much of the cold and flu season without coming down with anything. Everyone around me at work has been sick, but not me. I shouldn't have been so goddamn cocky. Last Wednesday I woke up sniffling and congested and life has sucked since. I had Wednesday-Monday off work and made big plans to live it up with Francesca since she finished her master's thesis on Thursday. A few swanky meals, a little bar-hopping, a tour of the Takara sake place in Berkeley and some movies were on the agenda. Instead, we've spent the long weekend getting our asses kicked by some vicious germs. It's been six days and I'm still not 100%. This week ain't gonna be fun, either. I have to make a lot of phone calls about the identity fraud thing. It hasn't gotten too out of control, but it's still a giant pain in the ass.

Another project getting underway will be a concerted attempt on my part to rid myself of clutter. I've become a musical packrat thanks to Amoeba and I need to do something about it. In the last five years, I've picked up an insane amount of CDs from the bargain bins. Every time I go to Amoeba, I leave with at at least 4 CDs. It's impossible to resist when you walk out with four for around $10. It's cheaper than buying one new one. The problem is that a lot of these cheap CDs got thrown into a box and have never been listened to...or maybe I listened to a few minutes and never decided whether to keep them or not. It's gotten way out of hand, so I've sorted the CDs into alphabetical order. I will listen to at least one in its entirety every day at work and then I'll decide whether it goes into my main collection or if it's to be sold. I'll write about each one here as a means of making me stick to my plan. So if you see something you want that I intend to sell, let me know and we'll work out a trade. Let's see if I can follow through with this one. There are 135 CDs and if I do at least four a week, I can plow through the lot in less than a year. I have a feeling I'll be able to get rid of at least half of them, maybe more.
