The Beer Retard - April 17th, 2003

My better half, or the one person brave (or foolish) enough to share living quarters with me, now has an LJ. I'm not sure how often she'll update, but I'm hoping it's at least semi-frequently. So if you have any interest in the decadence movement including but not limited to 19th century French literature, chocolate and John Waters--you might want to give decadentscholar a gander.

Finally got to meet gordonzola last night for a few beers. The second person I've met from here (the other being reddawn) and in both cases it was well worth it. The cheese guy is good people. More on the evening can be found in his journal or over at the heretodrinkbeer community.

Film festival starts tomorrow and I've got my tickets. Seeing seven films over the next 2 weeks. I'll try to put together a few sentences on the festival at movieretard. At the very least, I'll complain about the pretentious conversations I hear among the SF film fest crowd. The movie I saw at the festival last year was crawling with pretentious cinema hipsters, which seem to be an older and stuffier version of the city's indie rock hipsters.
