SF trip: best of and biggest disappointments

Overall, my trip to SF was good. Big thanks to [info]slipkid for putting me up and thereby letting me save my money for movies, beer and food. The week had its share of downs to go with the ups, but I can't say I didn't enjoy myself. One thing I realized is that, while I still miss some things about the city, I left feeling like I should give Seattle more of a chance to win me over. There was another shooting in Capitol Hill when I was gone (this time the cops blew away some guy waving a gun around) and some local blogs are bemoaning the rise in muggings and burglaries in the neighborhood. But SF still has its share of problems and reasons not to move back. I think maybe I was playing up how great it was too much. The idea was a little better than the reality. I still may move back if I get into that master's program at SFSU. For the time being, I'll make more of an effort up here.

Back to the vacation stuff. I'll divide my SF scribblings into categories because it's easier and it feeds my OCD tendencies. My trip was spent doing the following: eating, drinking beer/shooting pool, seeing films and bargain bin diving at Amoeba. I also managed to see most (but not all) of the people I planned on meeting. Lack of internet access made it difficult to meet up with people I don't yet know (or have met but don't have phone numbers for). Hopefully next time. Okay, I'll get to it:
