Man, was I late getting on board the Turbonegro train. All these years they've been around and I've just heard them for the first time a few days ago. Apocalypse Dudes is such a genius record...it's amazing. Some of the songs are so sickeningly catchy that I found myself singing along while walking around the library stacks. If you are at all familiar with the band, I don't need to tell you that singing the chorus to "Good Head" or "Don't Say Motherfucker, Motherfucker" is a bad idea when you're at work.
You know Turbonegro's a band to be reckoned with when you hear that a Norwegian black metal band (Mayhem, I think) covers one of their songs and says that they had to do a Turbonegro song because they're really the most evil band in Norway. The song, of course, was "Are You Ready (For Some Darkness)." Now I'm upset that I didn't discover them earlier because they're playing two shows here in October and both are already sold out.
I think the Sex Pistols are playing here tonight. I remember being mildly curious when I heard about it, but there's no way in hell I'm shelling out upwards of $35 to see them. The Great Rock n' Roll Swindle is still taking place all these years later. I wish I at least knew someone who was going so I could hear about how it was first-hand.

Have you heard the new record? It can't touch Apocalypse Dudes, but it has 5-6 great songs and only a few duds, which is better than most of the stuff that's come out this year.
